CCCAV is looking to hire a full time Converse County Victim Advocate.

This is a 40+ hour a week position. Must be available to be on-call and work weekends on occasion. Also, must be available to travel for conferences, trainings and crisis calls.

Training will be provided upon hire. Training includes a 40 hour victim advocate training.

Essential Job Functions:

·        Preform advocate duties for victims of crime and their families

·        Offer victim information, emotional support, resources and assistance in filling out paper work

·        Accompany victims through the criminal justice process; including going to court with a victim

·        Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to assist victims of all crime

·        Assist victims of crime in seeking Crime Victims Compensation benefits

·        Carry crisis phone and respond to scene, office, or other location with back-up advocate when needed

·        Provide crisis intervention

·        Respond to the emotional needs and physical needs of crime victims

·        Assist victims of crime in stabilizing their lives after victimization

·        Assist victims in understanding and participating in the criminal justice system

·        And provide victims of crime a measure of safety
